Forty years ago this week, Forever by Roy Wood reached its highest position of number 8 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 seven weeks previously at number 32 and broke into the top 10 six weeks later. After one week at its peak position, the song spent two more weeks in the top 10 and then fell to number 18 for a final week in the top 40.
Forever was released on the Harvest record label. It was the only solo top 10 hit for Roy Wood in the UK.
