This week in 1983, My oh my by Slade was at its highest position of number 2 in the UK singles chart for the second of three weeks. It had entered the top 40 five weeks previously at number 36 and broke into the top 10 two weeks later. After falling from its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final two weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
My oh my was released on the RCA record label and was the fifteenth of sixteen UK top 10 hits for Slade. It was taken from the album The amazing kamikaze syndrome, which failed to enter the UK album top 40. The single was certified gold.
