Ten years ago this week, The hardest button to button by the White Stripes entered the UK singles chart at number 23. This was the highest position the song achieved as it dropped out of the top 40 a week later.
The hardest button to button was released on the XL Recordings record label and was the sixth of thirteen top 40 hits for the White Stripes in the UK. It was taken from the double-platinum-selling album Elephant, which spent two weeks at the top of the UK albums chart.
