Sixty years ago this week, Can’t I? by Nat ‘King’ Cole reached its highest position of number 6 in the UK singles chart for the first time. It had entered the top 12 six weeks previously at number 9 but had spent the next five weeks outside the top 10. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 10 for a week before returning to number 6 for a final week. The song spent the next two weeks outside the chart but then returned for one last week at number 10.
Can’t I? was released on the Capitol record label. It was the fifth of fifteen top 10 hits for Nat ‘King’ Cole in the UK.
