This week in 1983, Calling your name by Marilyn reached its highest position of number 4 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 32 and broke into the top 10 two weeks later. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 7 for a final week in the top 10. A further five weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
Calling your name was released on the Mercury record label and was the only top 10 hit for Marilyn in the UK. It was included on his 1985 album Despite straight lines, which failed to enter the UK albums chart. The single was certified silver.
